STAR OF THE EAST DANCE COMMUNITY

Inspired by the sunrise, where human activities are begins from the east, several of ISI Yogyakarta’s students who originally from east Indonesia founded Star of The East Community in 2003 in Yogyakarta. The first goal is to introduce traditional east Indonesian performing arts to the public, also performed contemporary dances basically of east Indonesian culture without eliminating the essential of the tradition itself.
